In the initial contact and discovery phase we start with an informal phone conversation to discuss and understand your reasons for seeking therapy. It's a chance for you to ask any outstanding questions. We will explore your current challenges, goals and expectations from therapy. I will take time to explain the therapeutic approach, discuss session frequency and fees and to give you a full picture of what to expect. It's an opportunity for us to determine if we are the right fit for each other.
In this comprehensive session, I’ll begin by outlining what to expect and welcoming you to the start of your journey. We’ll begin by reviewing and documenting key aspects of your background, which will help me gain a clear understanding of your individual circumstances. At this stage, it’s essential for me to learn about your support network, relationships, and any relevant medical history.
I’ll also ask a series of sensitive questions, building on our initial discovery call, to understand why you are seeking hypnotherapy and what a successful outcome looks like for you. If more than one area is presented, I may ask you to prioritise them to ensure we focus on what’s most important to you.
With this information, I’ll be able to create a personalised plan moving forward and introduce you to your first experience of hypnotherapy.
Therapy is a unique and individual process, which means there is no set timeframe or predetermined number of sessions. The need for follow-up sessions depends entirely on your personal progress. Each follow-up consultation offers the opportunity to review where we left off, assess any changes, explore areas that may need further attention, and consider alternative techniques or approaches. Most importantly, we'll discuss how you're feeling about your progress.
Follow-up sessions are always encouraged as a natural continuation of your initial in-depth assessment. These sessions are focused on integrating lasting change through hypnotherapy and addressing any new developments from previous sessions.
Every journey has its positive conclusion, and the same applies to your therapeutic experience. As we progress together, we will continually assess your development and the positive changes you've experienced. When the time feels right, we will make an informed decision to conclude therapy, based on your progress.
